Firebox End

Both jars stood on the kiln floor nearest the firebox for four days of pine and manuka, and the flame has left a broad apricot flank on the taller one and stripped the glaze to dry crawl along the shorter one's shoulder. Ash has run twice down the taller jar and stopped in a bead above the foot; pinholes cluster where the slip went on thick. Each carries one incised line round the shoulder, drawn at different heights, and neither jar is glazed inside.
