MF-008

Basilia Nina, North Wind
Ercilia Mamani Quisbert · 2012
The plate is turned on its side, which puts the sitter at the left and leaves the rest of the field to the hung market backdrop and the sky. Pour swirls gather along the top border where the collodion ran back toward the corner of the plate, and holder scratches cross both short edges. Nothing is retouched and nothing is cropped; the reverse carries her name, the date and the word norte.
Condition note
Two thirds of this plate is empty, which is unusual for her; the backdrop's painted balustrade stops mid-air at the seam.
